Serving Sisters, Oregon
Window Cleaning in Sisters, OR | To come, likely around town versus outlying cabins
Sisters is about two square miles with roughly 3,700 people in it, and a downtown built to look like 1880. Those western storefronts are not a theme someone chose. They are zoning, in place since the early 1970s, and they mean the glass here is not like glass anywhere else in Central Oregon.
Sightline cleans windows across Sisters, from the shops on Cascade Avenue to homes in town and cabins out in the pines.
Event Season
Book Ahead of the Rodeo, the Quilt Show, and the Folk Festival
Sisters fills up several times a year, and every shop in town wants clean glass the week before.
The Sisters Rodeo, the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, and the Sisters Folk Festival each bring far more people into a two square mile town than live in it. Add Hoodoo’s ski season on the other end of the calendar.
The problem is that everyone books at once. If your glass matters for an event, get on the calendar two to three weeks out. The week before is when we are turning people away.
For most Sisters shops, a route every two weeks through the season and monthly through winter covers it, with an extra visit timed ahead of whichever event brings your customers.
Storefronts
Storefront Glass Is the Town’s Front Door
Most of Sisters’ economy walks past your window before it walks through your door.
Cascade Avenue is Highway 20 and Highway 126 merged into one street, which means every visitor coming over the pass or up from Bend drives directly past your frontage. Hood Avenue carries the rest. People park once and walk, so they are looking at glass at arm’s length, not through a windscreen at 40 miles an hour.
That changes what matters. On a Bend storefront, a smear at head height is barely noticed. Here, someone is standing two feet from it deciding whether to come in.
Highway frontage also means road grit. Anything facing Cascade Avenue takes traffic dust year round, and it builds faster than most owners expect.
We run early morning routes so the work is done before you unlock.
The Glass Itself
Divided Light Windows Take Longer
This is where Sisters differs from every other town we work in.
The historic storefront zoning gives you multi pane windows with real grids, wood frames, and transoms above the doors. Plenty of homes in town were built to match.
Each small pane gets cleaned by hand. There is no way around it, and it is why a quote for a Sisters storefront can look higher than one for a plate glass frontage of the same width. You are not paying more per square foot. You have more edges.
Wood frames need care too. They do not take the same treatment as vinyl or aluminium, and older paint and glazing putty deserve a gentler approach.
If you are comparing quotes, ask each company how they count a divided light window. Some count the opening, some count the panes, and that single question explains most of the difference between two numbers. Our residential page sets out how we do it.
Water Source
In Town or Out? Your Water Is Different
Worth knowing before you assume your spotting problem matches your neighbour’s.
Inside the city limits, water comes from a municipal system dating back to the 1930s, now four wells feeding a 1.6 million gallon reservoir through roughly 32 miles of main to about 1,500 service connections.
Outside the limits, people are on their own wells or shared wells. Mineral content varies from one to the next, and there is no reason two properties a mile apart should be the same.
There is a wrinkle here that most of the region does not have. Leaky irrigation canals kept the water table around Sisters Country artificially high for close to a century. As those canals get piped, the table is settling back toward its natural level, and some shallow wells have gone dry, intermittently or for good.
What that means for glass is simple. If you are on a well outside town and your sprinkler hits the house, expect mineral spotting on the lower third of your windows. We test a patch before quoting so you know whether it lifts or the glass has etched.

Two Different Jobs
Town Homes and Cabins in the Pines
Sisters is really two jobs.
In town, on lots under an acre, the work is straightforward. Homes near the elementary school and along the streets off Hood and Main are close together, easy to access, and many carry the same divided light windows as downtown.
Out toward Camp Sherman, Tollgate, and the forest edge, it changes completely. Bigger glass facing the Three Sisters, vaulted ceilings, more deck rail, and pines dropping needles into everything. Gutters out there need three or four clearings a year rather than two, and the fall one should happen before the first hard freeze.
At 3,189 feet Sisters sits lower than Sunriver but takes real winter, so exterior work pauses in the coldest weeks and moves indoors.
