From First Call to Clean Glass

Six steps. Everything in writing. Nothing you find out on the day.

Most window cleaning goes wrong before anyone touches a window. The price changes when the crew arrives. Screens turn out not to be included. Somebody leaves while the glass is still wet and the streaks show up the next morning. Here is exactly what happens when you book Sightline, from the first message to the last invoice.

Fully insured · Certificate on request · 7-day rain guarantee on residential exterior

Step by Step

The Six Steps

1. Photo Quote, Usually Same Day

Text one photo of each side of your building to (541) 541-4344. You do not need to photograph every window. Four photos of a house is enough for us to count openings, see the glass type, and spot anything unusual.

Most quotes go back the same day.

Photos matter because they stop the two things customers hate most. We are not guessing at a number over the phone and correcting it on your driveway. And we are not sending someone out for a twenty minute site visit you have to be home for.

For larger commercial buildings and construction sites we will come and look, because glass count and access are harder to judge from a photo.

If a photo shows something we cannot price properly, such as heavy mineral spotting, we tell you that before quoting rather than pricing it blind.

2. What You Get in Writing Before You Book

Every quote lists what is included and what is not. No verbal agreements, no assumptions.

You will see the glass count and how we counted it, whether screens, tracks, and sills are included, whether interior is in the price or exterior only, anything itemised separately such as hard water restoration or skylights needing roof access, and the total.

Screens, tracks, and sills come with every interior and exterior residential service.

Exterior only work covers the glass, because screens cannot be removed and interior tracks cannot be reached from outside. That is stated on your quote, not discovered afterwards.

For commercial accounts you also get the billing terms, whether purchase order numbers go on the invoice, and the certificate of insurance.

Ask any company you are comparing us to for the same thing in writing. The cheaper quote is often the smaller one.

3. Booking and a Two-Hour Arrival Window

You get a confirmation with the date and a two hour arrival window, not a vague morning or afternoon.

On the day you get a message when we are on the way. If we are running behind, you hear it from us before you start wondering.

Commercial and rental work is scheduled around you rather than around us. Storefronts get early morning routes before opening. Vacation rentals get exterior work on booked weeks, since it needs no key and nobody out of the house, and interior on a gap day.

Cancelling or rescheduling. Twenty four hours notice, please. Weather turns and access changes, and we will find you another time.

4. The Work

Before anything starts, we move door mats and patio furniture clear of water. Shoes come off inside. Tell us about pets when you book and we will keep gates closed and let you know before we open anything.

Then the order that matters. Frames first, then glass, working from the top of the building down, so nothing above drips onto work already finished below. Screens come out, get washed on both sides, and go back in the openings they came from. Tracks get vacuumed before they are wiped, because grit plus water makes mud.

Upper storey glass, skylights, gutters, and solar panels are all reached from the ground with water fed poles reaching around 40 feet. Nobody walks on your roof. It is safer for our crew and it keeps foot traffic off your roofing.

Most homes take two to four hours. Larger properties take a day.

Each service page sets out the specifics: residential, commercial, post construction, skylights, gutters, solar.

5. Dry Check Before We Leave

This is the step most companies skip, and it is the reason most complaints exist.

Wet glass hides everything. A pane that looks flawless while it is still wet can show a missed edge or a track drip once it dries. So we wait, then walk the property and check every pane before packing up.

Mats and furniture go back exactly where they were.

We would rather find the problem than have you find it on Saturday morning.

On rental and absentee owner properties we send photos of the finished glass the same day, so you can see the result without being there.

6. Guarantee, Then the Invoice

Rain guarantee. If it rains within seven days of your residential exterior clean, call us and we come back to touch it up at no charge. Commercial route work runs on the service agreement, so the guarantee applies only where it is written into your account terms.

If we break something. If we break a pane while working, we take responsibility and arrange the repair or replacement as quickly as we can. That is stated in writing before we start, not negotiated after.

Payment. Residential customers are invoiced after the work is finished, never before. We take card payments. No deposit for standard residential jobs. Larger commercial and construction projects may need one, and you will know that at the quote. Commercial and construction accounts follow their agreed billing terms.

Why It Matters

What Goes Wrong When These Steps Get Skipped

No photo quote. The number changes on your driveway. You either accept it or send someone away having already taken the morning off.

Nothing in writing. This is where the screens argument happens. You assumed they were included, they assumed they were not, and now somebody is unhappy over sixty dollars.

No arrival window. You lose a day waiting.

Tracks wiped before vacuuming. Grit turns to paste, gets pushed into the corners, and stays there until someone with a vacuum removes it properly.

Wet glass, crew gone. Water sitting in a track seeps out over the next few hours and dries in lines down the pane you just paid for. This is the single most common cause of a streaking complaint.

No dry check. You find the missed spot instead of us. Once that happens, you stop trusting the rest of the job even if it was fine.

No rain guarantee. Weather turns two days later and you pay twice.

The Comparison

“We can fix any stain”

Insurance mentioned if asked
Certificate on request before the first visit

Honesty

The Part That Matters Most

We tell you when we cannot fix something.

Mineral deposits that have etched into glass cannot be cleaned off, and we say so at the patch test rather than taking payment for a result that is not possible. We do not repair screens, gutters, or failed window seals, and we do not pretend otherwise. If a skylight cannot be reached safely from the ground, you hear that before you book.

Every company will tell you what they can do. Fewer will tell you what they cannot, and that is usually the more useful information.
